Rock Art Designs are inspired by native cultures on rock walls. I was overwhelmed by the mystery, simplicity, and beauty of this art while I visited sites. Most of the panels come from the Southwest U.S. but some are seen in other areas.

Any design can be made into any piece of pottery, i.e. design seen on bowl can be done on a mug.
Our items are hand-crafted and made to order. Please allow 5-6 weeks for delivery. Rush orders may be possible. Please email us.

All the pieces are made with lead-free glazes.
Items are Cone 6 stoneware and are food, dishwasher, microwave*, and oven safe. These designs are available in several variations. These very detailed and multi-colored designs cost a bit more. The painted decorations are done with underglaze — very time-consuming — the designs are the result of three or four coats of pigment applied to create the intense colors.

		Dinnersets Purring Banshee Studios can create custom place settings for you, with any of our designs or one of your own. Each individual setting contains a mug, dinner plate, bowl, bread plate, and napkin ring (substitutions are ok).

*All the pieces are made with lead-free glazes. Items are Cone 6 stoneware and are food, dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe.** For all dinnerware items, I use a white, a speckled brown, or occasionally a dark brown cone 6 stoneware. Glazes often appear different, depending upon which clay they are over. If you have a preference as to the type of clay for your piece, you must let me know at the time of ordering. I am willing to do different types of clay, such as cone 6 porcelain, or white or red earthenware. Earthenware clay is food safe, but not dishwasher, microwave, or oven safe, and does not hold standing liquid for long periods of time. All sizes are approximate. As items are hand-crafted, glazed and fired, please allow for variations.

*Tips on microwaving hand thrown stoneware pottery:

I throw in both white and brown stoneware. It is said that if the clay is white, it is microwave safe. Red and brown clays contains iron, as do red and brown glazes. As we know, metal in the microwave is not good. However, I personally have gotten years, so far, out of my brown stoneware pieces, including microwaving them.

For microwaving on pottery, you will reduce the chance of breakage if you place the food evenly on the inside of the container. Microwaved or oven warmed pieces will be hot when you remove them. Never stack empty pottery to warm them in the microwave or the oven.
